Jesus gave the disciples, two simple sentences that still today profoundly direct our lives as Christians…
“He said to them, ‘When you pray, say:
Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread and forgive us our sins for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us, and do not subject us to the final test.’”
In today’s Healing Mass homily, Fr. Michael weaves the story of this simple prayer into our own needs and wants for healing and forgiveness; healing of physical sickness, plus forgiveness of the hurts we have done to others and that have been done to us.
Through Jesus’ power and not our own, we can overcome the divisions of pain, suffering and hurt to be a strong people of faith united in Christ.
