Fr. Michael shares his homily called “Jealousy” based on the reading from Genesis 37: 3 – 28, which shares the story about Joseph, son of Jacob.
Jacob loved Joseph more than his other sons. Because of this, Joseph’s brothers were jealous of their younger brother. At first they were going to kill him, but then decided to sell him into slavery for 20 pieces of silver.
Fr. Michael uses this reading to emphasize the dangers and darkness of the sin of jealousy, and then shares his own struggle with jealousy. Through Fr. Michael’s honesty and vulnerability, we are so blessed to have a greater insight to the pit of jealousy.
