“Come to me all you who labor and I will give you rest” Matt 11:28
In this homily, given by Fr. Michael on the Feast of Saint Juan Diego, and posted on the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, we hear the story of Juan Diego, an Aztec peasant who converted to Christianity and who met twice with Mary, once while on his way to daily Mass and once again while attending to his dying uncle. What happened after those two miraculous apparitions is still having an impact on our world today.

Mother of Life
by J. Michael Sparough, SJ
Pregnant with His Light
Offering the flower of your innocence
Before this window into
The vast unknown.
You trust
Truth hiding from all but
Child-like eyes robed in a starry mantle
Born of faith in what God
Alone can do.
You behold
The God-man growing within you
Oh so secretly even angels whisper
The Living Word loving
Human flesh.
You love
This Son now radiant within
Your untouched womb brightening
As one star shining above
All the rest.
You choose
Life for this One yet unborn
A prayerful pilgrimage beginning
From Nazareth to Bethlehem
To Calvary.
You know
Not what your future holds
But you know Who holds your future
Guiding barefoot steps into His
Luminous Darkness.
Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mother of Life, Pray for us!
Beautiful!!!
