Jesus describes the Kingdom of God to the disciples as like a mustard seed or like yeast…it starts out very small and grows into something glorious.
Fr. Michael compares the imagery used by Jesus with Pope Francis’ words in Laudato Si which call our attention to the issue of climate change and our personal responsibility as Christians. Fr. Michael highlights three points:
- This is a moral issue, the poor are the first to suffer when the Earth suffers
- The Church has an important voice in this discussion and should not remain silent
- The time to act is now, just as the mustard seed starts small, little actions do matter.
