One of the most painful side effects of the pandemic is that we are, in many cases, not able to visit our loved ones who are sick and suffering. Our hearts go out to them, but we’re not able to be there in person to hug them or whisper words of comfort.
Today’s Practices for Pandemic consists of three short video prayers –
A shortened version of the Sign of the Cross Meditation
A gospel recitation and a Prayer for the Sick
A virtual celebration of the Rite of Anointing of the Sick
If you are ailing yourself, stricken with anxiety, depression, or anger, may these prayers be a balm for your body and soul.
If you know of someone who is sick and isolated, and they have access to the internet, consider sharing one or all of these meditations with them. May these prayers bring comfort to the weary and healing hope to those struck low by the blow of this virus.
