The Commission: Do You Love Me?

As the retreat concludes, Fr. Michael continues his imaginative prayer…On the shores of Galilee, the risen Jesus gently restores Peter by asking him three times, “Do you love me?” Matching each denial with an invitation to love and serve, Jesus entrusts Peter with the care of his flock. Peter learns that discipleship is not about never failing, but about allowing God’s mercy to transform failure into a lifelong mission of love.
